      Enhance Your Residential Planning Skills

The places where we live and work and play require innovative, creative and properly trained individuals to make them functional, comfortable, and practical. The Residential Planning Diploma program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division covers the basics of interior space planning, making it the perfect choice to quickly apply your skills in the residential planning field.

Geared toward working adults (preferably with a college degree and professional experience) interested in self-enrichment, the diploma program in Residential Planning helps to prepare students for growing opportunities in residential planning and sales consultation by providing them with the opportunity to gain drawing, drafting and computer skills.

This program is designed to provide students entry-level skills needed for interior space planning and design with the ability to further their career by studying a specific area to specialize in. Students in this program will be taught the basics of interior space planning, including textiles, historic and contemporary styles, space planning, kitchen and bath planning, drafting and computer-aided design.

Additionally, credits earned may be transferred to the Interior Design Bachelor’s Degree program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division.

      Career Portrait

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Interior designers are expected to face keen competition for available positions because many talented individuals are attracted to this profession. Individuals with little or no formal training in interior design, as well as those lacking creativity and perseverance, will find it very difficult to establish and maintain a career in this occupation.”

      Accreditation

The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
